1/2 Step Tuning with a Hipshot Double Stop Lever

I'm thinking about getting one of theses for one of my basses. I see it advertised as Drop D to C, but what I really want to do is drop D# to drop D. Is anyone doing anything like this and is it too small a change for the thing to handle? Right now I'm just doing a quick tune before the songs, but its still a little sloppy in my mind. This would really clean things up . . . if it would work.
