197x J-bass bridge replacement recs

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone have a recommendation for a replacement bridge for my 1970s J-bass? The original bridge is in bad shape. It has 5 screws and I'd like to get something that will match that. Many Thanks, ~Tom

Hi Phil,

Here is a collection of Fender bass bridges that should fit your J bass.

http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/b...uinefender.htm I would expect the 5-screw, 4-saddle bridges to fit.

Other notable choices include the Leo Quan Badass II and Gotoh 201.

The webpage is merely to show what's available. You may (or may not) get better prices at another dealer.

One important note, DON'T THROW THE ORIGINAL BRIDGE AWAY! It may be valuable/important one day.

Good Luck

Bob

i would just keep the original plate and throw the threaded-rod vintage saddles on it; better spacing over the pickup magnets, and no sliding or rattle since the spread-out spacing holds the 4 saddles in against each other.
