1999 warwick thumb 5 ?'s

there is no function in my tone control knobs . it's got active pickups and electronics (2, 9volts)i'm not a tech head whatsoever but the bass works . does anyone know if it's a "chip" or perhaps the preamp at fault and also where to obtain the parts necessary to fix it . the pickups are MEC . any help WILL be appreciated . thanx in advance.

What kind of preamp is it? My Thumb5 has a Vol., Blend, stack bass/treble. If it's like mine, you also have a passive option (pulling volume knob) and that's probably what's working right now - if your tone controls are not working, the preamp is probably bypassed. I don't know if you can fix the preamp though, you would need to see a tech. But if you need to change your preamp, I've got one MEC preamp I'd be willing to let go for cheap.

^ check out what he said, but otherwise you may have a bad pot, or your pre might be goin on you. good luck. it seems like you dont really know whats going on though, so if the pre isnt bypassed definitely have a tech check it out.
