What size allen wrench do I use to adjust the truss rod on my new MIM P? It has too much relief.

Thank you.

I could have done a search. My brain appears to be on holiday...

I am just traumatized by rounding off a Yamaha truss rod nut by using an allen wrench that was just a bit too small. Hey, it's dark in there.

It looks like 3/16 is the size.

Didn't you get one with the bass? It came with a bag with warranty junk in it, and there's an allen wrench in there.

I can't remember if the one I picked up to adjust a recent MIM P was 3/16" or a metric size. I know I couldn't find one in my collection that fit right, so I went down to my usual music store and got the salesman to give me a handful to try on one of their store Fender MIMs. I took it home ( I got it free) and it worked. I never did bother to check the size and it's buried somewhere in my collection now. So, I'd say, do the same thing, or go to a harware store and get a 3/16" and the closest metric size and check. You don't want to strip out that hole, although you can get a replacement nut pretty easily.

Anyone know where i can get truss rod nut for MIM fender jazz bass? I emailed stewmac and they told me the don't have metric thread nuts which is what MIM fenders would use.

thanks!
