23rd fret buzz

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys,

I've got a 5 string spector that I've been working on setting up. I can get the action fairly low however when I try to go lower; I can't seem to get rid of buzz on the 23rd frets, all across the board unless I play with an extremely light touch which is fine but if I try to go lower it gets worse and will buzz no matter how light I play. It only buzzes on the 23rd fret. Any ideas? I have a new fretless neck on the way from spector but until then I'm fretted.m Thanks!

Fret 24 is higher than F-23.

F-24 is too high, popped, poorly seated or who knows what?

F-24 is the fret that will be worked on.

Filing F-23 will only make the problem worse.
