I know they've long been discontinued but.......someone out there must have a 2Tek 5 string bridge on a shelf somewhere.I'm looking to put it in a Jazz bass Deluxe 5.

IMO, you'd be better off buying a used USA Hamer 5-string 2-Tek CruiseBass. You can buy them for ~$500 - $600 on e-Bay. The 2-Tek bridge itself won't come cheap and the complex routing necessary to install it won't be cheap either.

I happen to love the 2-Tek! I'll keep my eyes and ears peeled for you.

Thanks. It seems like such a great idea. What happened, did they just price themselves out of business?

They are an expensive aftermarket option. There were a few companies that used them in production (Hamer, ESP, and Peavey etc). I thought they were going to be back last year. Anyway, I sent an email to the owner. He sent me a coupla saddles a few months ago. He may or may not have one. I'll let you know what I find out.

I have 4 Hamer 2-teks and would love to see them come back into business. Can you list your POC where you got the saddles? Would be good info to have just in case...

I currently have a 5 2Tek in a fretless with a brass nut - the bass really sings. I am building a fretted 5 and would love to get hold of another 2Tek. Any info on contacts or reincarnation would be great. Note that the bridge does take special routing and it is VERY heavy. My fretless with ash body and the 2Tek weighs in at around 15+.

I rebuilt a MIM J bass years ago with a 2Tek bridge and a graphite neck, sustain for days.
