Follow the logic a bit further and these bridges claim to not sonically connect to the body in any way. Hmmm, that sounds bad, eliminates string crosstalk, yeah that will sell parts 
I'm sure it also adds resonance. |

It was a fantastic sounding bass (wish I never sold it), but because it came from Schecter with the 2Tek installed, there's no telling how much sonic mojo the 2Tek actually contributed. It would be interesting to hear real-world user's "before & after" opinions.

I had a similar experience when I saw Caleb Quaye had put a Floyd Rose in his '64 Strat. It then dawned on me that many of my favorite players don't treat their instruments like sacred cows and will customize anything to suit their specific needs, collector value be damned.
I'd still never do such a thing to a vintage instrument...
