Hello, I want to purchase a fender jazz bass deluxe V5 body (2009) that I'm pretty sure came with a 22- fret neck on it. I can't seem to find an after market 22 fret neck and I was just told by a dealer that a 20 fret neck would fit. Does this sound correct to anyone? Would it intonate properly? He said as long as its a deluxe V5 neck
Thanks |

You need the distance from the nut to the 12th fret equal to the distance from the 12th fret to the bridge saddle (+- for intonation adjustment).

Here's one designed to fit 22 fret deluxe Fenders.

Walk away.

Think about what position the 12th fret will be in and calculate from there. A neck is built to a specific scale length, which is exactly twice the distance between the nut takeoff point and the 12th fret.
