5 String "drop in" Mod bridge?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all. Can anyone recommend a solid replacement 5 string bass bridge that can be dropped into a standard Fender Jazz 5 string bass without requiring drilling?

I find the Leo Quan badasses are a bit too pricey even though they are solid.

Anyone know of a good place on ebay or wherever to get a part like this without spending more than 30 bucks? Thanks.

It seems the quality bass bridges cost a pretty penny.

Not to make you jealous but I snapped up a hipshot gold A type 5 string bass bridge off ebay for right around 30 dollars including shipping.

I think its just a matter of how much time you have hunting for deals. (Also I have no idea about the 'drop in' part... every bridge I ever buy never fits stock)

I Agree with Gopher... I've never had a replacment bridge
exactly replace the stock one without some drilling.

I do understand that people are generally nervous about drilling
into thier baby, but as long as you are careful and pay attention
to the carpenter's golden rule, you'll be OK...

"Measure twice, cut once" (or drill once) You'll be glad you did!
