5 string low B problem

Sign in to disble this ad
So I just had a lot of (much needed) work done on my Peavey C5; I had it refretted, rewired, a new jack and volume control put in, and it was set up and had a new set of strings put on.

When I have it a good work out when I got it back I thought the low B wasn't ringing true like the other strings towards the 12th fret (and around that area). I played it again the next day and now I'm not so sure... it isn't deadened but it doesn't have that zing new strings should, and just doesn't sound.... right. It's hard to drescribe I guess.

Should I take it back in to have it looked at again?

Cheers

Did you put the same brand, type, and gauge of strings on it that you took off?

Ask if they replaced the B string?

Sometimes destringing and restringing a bass can make some of the strings go dead.

Try a fresh set of strings.

Push the string down at the saddle, to give it a witness point, see what that does.
