5 String Retainer Bar Setup?

Sign in to disble this ad
Is there any special way to set the 5 string retainer bar on a Sadowsky Metro bass? Should it be closer to the headstock to put tension on all the strings or should it just rest on the strings with very little tension? Should it be straight or slanted to accommodate for the larger strings? I was wondering if this does anything to the overall tension of the strings especially the "B" string. Thanks.

That's actually a pretty good question. Why don't you call Roger and then let us know what you find out? I'm kind of curious myself.
