'57 gold pickguard on American Standard P?

I want to put one of those gold pickguards on my Precision, but I'm a little confused. The bass I have is fitted with a 13 hole pickguard, while the '57 reissues are all 10 hole. I'm wondering if this pickguard will 1). Have the same holes as the 13, just fewer of them. Or 2). fit on the bass ok, just need a few different holes drilled. Anyone have experience with this?

The holes don't match up, plus, the routing around the control cavity on the body has the little "bumps" left around the edges of the cavity, for the screws to go into. I think the screw holes on the 10 hole anodized pg which go around the control cavity probably won't have anything to bite into on your bass. One time I glued small pieces of wood to the edge of the cavity in the proper places for the screws to bite into.

Fit just fine on my 08 American Standard P. There was one hole that didn't match up perfectly, but the rest were fine.

Fits on mine. As pointed out, one of the holes by the knobs need to be drilled and there isn't much meat for the screw to bite. It still gets the job done.
