chording, then yes. I would find one more high string when playing
chords or soloing up high useful; however, for laying down the
groove, getting fat or smooth tones, the B is sometimes very
handy.

man, If I had a 6er with that many high strings, I could really show my guitar player what's up

I'm saying it's a GOOD thing to that have many high strings, that means that the guitar player can't boss u around
I can never really utilize my B string when my guitar player is around, it's too low for him. My drummer is totally down with that though. |

This is why I decided to switch my mtd 5 to a high C. Much more fun at parties. It's great when you're in a fusion trio to be able to throw a harmony at the guitar player during his solo, and have it not sound like muddy poo. Thanks, Dominique Dipiazza. Without you, I'd never have people ask me, "shouldn't you just be playing guitar?" |

I have never once even thought about putting the low B on there. For the short period that i had (and loved) my 6er, i strung it high (EADGCF). i had a blast playing it and really wish i still had it but it just put the E string a lil too far out of reach at the time. Give it a whirl though. I think you will enjoy it.
