67 P-Bass paint restorer?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello Everyone!

I've got a 67 P-Bass that I've had for 30+ years. When I was 17, like an idiot, I let my drummer talk my into repainting it, because it had tons of scratches, scuffs, belt buckle wear, etc. We disassembled it, stripped the paint, and then I chickened out (oops... too late). So we put a pine sealant on the body so it wouldn't pick up moisture and reassembled it. Fortunately, it still plays like a dream and has fantastic sound, but I am wanting to get the original paint restored (sunburst). Can anyone recommend someone who can do it and do it right? I absolutely LOVE this fantastic instrument and want to see it restored to its former glory.
The only modifications I've done are to remove the bridge guard and the pickupguard (it's got the original tortoise shell pick guard), and I have a Badass II bridge on it.

Thanks in advance!!!!!

Try RSGuitarworks. They are terrific. Here is a thread giving some details about the refinishing of my 1955 P-bass. I am not a shill, just a very happy customer. These guys know old Fenders!
