Hi everyone, just wanted to ask a basic setup question for a 7 string bass. The bass in question is an import-made 7-string with independent bridge saddle pieces that can do string thru or bridge-thru. It has one funky fret spot in the neck that I've kinda just got used to near the center where I get the 'sitar' effect, but one thing is that I cannot seem to get a decent action on the bass. I see all these great tappers doing their riffs on 7+ string basses, but for the life of me I can't seem to get the action low without getting buzz or losing all of my sustain. The bass is a super-long scale and a neck-thru bass, and it's got a double truss rod. Has anyone figured out a good baseline string height for the 7-string bass, or what feeler gauges I should use per string? I tune it in the BEADGCF tuning. Also, would I be able to get lower height depending on the way I put the strings through? Any help is greatly appreciated, I'll try to post pics of the bass if I get a chance. I just get so envious of those tappers

and I'm hoping I can get my action lowered up, otherwise I need to start workin' them out some more!
