MIA '71 P-bass + MIA '69 tuners + CIJ '05 P-neck =
A match made in HEAVEN!!!
They said it would never work out.
Their cultures were too different said some.
Others thought it just a matter of a bad fit.
The tuners are genuine MIA 1969 Fender, right off of my oversprayed
refretted bumpy 1969 rosewood FB P-bass B neck. The new CIJ neck is
mint, with no wear, good maple grain, a vintage tint, and a gorgeous
rosewood slab fingerboard. The rest of the bass is a 1971 P-with all
original parts.
It all fits together perfectly.
The pocket is tight and perfect, the tuners
and string ferrels went right on, nice and snug. The action is now killer,
low, buzz free, no dead spot to speak of, and just feels right.
The sound is better, more consistent, and pure vintage P bass.
I am in LUV!
