70s Jazz bridge pickup location

Hi,
I would like to know what the correct bridge pickup location for a Jazz bass is( from the saddle to the edge of the bridge pickup.
I have a 74 jazz and that distance is 1 7/8 " on the G string and 5 7/8 " to the neck pickup.
The reason why I'm confused is, I have two 5 string basses that are supposed to be like a 70s Jazz Bass. The first one is a Moon JB 5 and the location there is 2 3/8 " to the bridge pickup and 5 7/8 " to the neck pickup.
The second 5 string is a Atelier Z and there I have 2 1/4 " to the bridge and 6 " to the neck.
Neither one of the 5 string basses sound like my Jazz and I wonder if that 1/4" further back on the Jazz is what causes the difference in sound.
What is the 70s location supposed to be?
