| 70's tuners on a 50's neck?!

I just bought a 2005 50's reissue Fender Precision neck, and was looking for some tuners for it. I would love to buy some nicely aged 70's tuners for it, but im not sure if they will fit or not. Will only 50's tuners fit with a 50's neck? or whats the deal?
