'90 streamer b/o wood

Sign in to disble this ad
hi all!
would anybody know what kind of wood warwick used for painted (sunburst) streamer bolt on bodies? i've got one from 'bay, and the seller was not able to give me any details except that it is "very old, 15 years or so, has a lot of scratches, and the wood looks like maple"...
still waiting to receive the body, and will post a pic or two when i get it.
i would like to preserve the original finish if possible, but if it turns out that "a lot of scratches" is actually something worse, i'd be thinking about total refinish.
thanks in advance for your time and info,
cheers,
z
