97/98 Fender Custom Jazz Bass Pickguard Replacement

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently picked up a 97 or 98 Fender Custom Jazz Bass & I've been trying to find a reasonably priced replacement pickguard. If you don't know the difference of the pickguard on this model from the standard, it is a single pickguard that goes all the way underneath the control knobs instead of having the pickguard and nickel plate. From what I've found, WD Music is the only company that offers them and they're charging about $50 a pop. I wanted some other users input on whether I should drop the $50 on a replacement or if I should just put the standard pickguard and nickel plate on and drill some new holes (I think I'll have to drill about 5 holes.)
