About flats and fretbuzz

Hey yo

I've been setting up a cheap P bass copy I got. It's one where you gotta take the neck off for every adjustment. Anyway, I've got it pretty close to how I like it and getting a little tired of taking the neck on and off. I'm planning on putting flats on, at the moment it has the rounds that came on it. I have fret buzz on the A string, and that's it. Do you think that putting flats on will pull the neck a bit and solve the fret buzz?

Chur

I think raising the A string saddle is a better bet.

If the buzz is only happening on the open A, you don't have enough downpressure at the nut, probably due to not enough winds around the A tuner post.

I have enough winds, and the fret buzz is on most frets on the A string, not just the open A. I also have the action as high as it will go on that string. Cheers dude

Then it's most likely a bad string.
