Acoustic Truss Rod Adjustment

Sign in to disble this ad
So I have an acoustic that is slightly bowed back(string are too close to the frets; the trust rod adjustment screw(if that's what you call it), is underneath the neck in the body, not in the headstock, which way do I need to turn it clockwise or counterclockwise?

Thanks

Counterclockwise to give the neck some relief. If you feel resistance, stop turning. Sometimes minor adjustments do a lot.

Loosen the truss rod and allow the strings to pull the neck into relief. Turn the nut counter-clockwise.

Remember: Lefty loosey, righty tighty.
