Action on Antoria TwinCaster Bass

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,
I am new to all of this so please excuse me if i seem naive or anything of the like. I have recently purchased a 1973 Antoria Twincaster Bass and i love it!! The tone is a really rich vintage tone that you would expect from an old hollow body bass and it is excellent condition. The only problem i have with it, is that the action is quite high for my liking and for some reason i cannot adjust it! I have tried adjusting the trust rod but because its an old bass it wont turn properly and im afraid i'll snap it if i turn it too hard. I have also tried to adjust the bridge but nothing! My only other option was bringing it to my local Luthier but he said he will have to adjust the whole neck for the action to lowered but he said the tone may be affected by doing this. Is their any other way of adjusting the action in such an old bass?? Thanks in advance for the help
