action drop help!

hey guys, ive got a lovely anniversary precision lyte that i have been banging for years. i find myself now longing for a lower action as my string gauge goes up, but the bridge saddles are already resting on the bridge bass. any ideas without shimming the neck?

If your relief is set correctly and assuming the nut is properly cut and in good shape and the saddles are bottomed out and it's still too high, the only thing left really is a shim. Definately a last resort, but may be necessary.
