Adjusting Action / Pickup Cover

Recently I just put a Gotoh 201 on my Jazz bass. Love the sound of this way more than the bent metal.

Since doing this, we copied the settings of the original bent metal to the best of our abilities as it was professionally setup when purchased along with a fret level. We also changed the strings out.

When we got it all set up I was getting significant fret buzz down around 11-12th frets and beyond, sometimes even as early as 7th. I'm pretty new to bass, so I ended up trying to raise the action via the bridge currently. I eliminated a good chunk of the buzz I was getting, however the action is very, very high. To the point of when my neck pickup cover showed up the strings rest touching it.

Where would you start on this situation? We are pretty good friends with the store I got the bass and its work done on, and if I catch the guy at a not busy time, he may help. However I am also interested in learning myself.

Where would you start in this scenario. I can provide pictures of the bass and action in question if needed. All I can say, is it's high I find myself making mistakes because of how much more I have to press down compared to my Ibanez.
