Adjustments due to humidty, etc

My bass was set up nicely, I thought. But it's been raining for a couple of weeks, off and on. Really a lot of rain. The humidity must be very high right now. We went from realatively low humidity in winter, to more moisture than usual, in about a 2 or 3 week span.

Anyway, my bass neck really changed, practically overnight (maybe it's been changing a little every day and i just didn't notice it until the frets started to buzz badly). I had to loosen the truss rod about 1/2 turn, and it could use a little more, probably, plus I had to raise the strings at the bridge a bit, just to get it to play correctly.

Should a bass change that much due to high humidity? Is it normal, or do I have a very sensitive bass?

Depends on the individual instrument. One of my basses changes measurably if we get a few days of humid weather. Another one hardly changes at all - summer, winter, all seasons it stays about the same.

But for most instruments, changes inthe seasons from dry to moist and vice versa affects the neck relief. Just measure the relief to see what's happening.
