Allen key/wrench for volume and control knobs

Does anyone know the standard size for bass guitar knobs. I have an ibanez that came with an Allen key (very small and I lost it) and I ordered some aluminium knobs for a fender p. These came with an Allen key that worked on the fender but not the ibanez. When I looked closely it appears that the ibanez has threaded screws with a round hole instead of something you can tighten with a small screwdriver or Allen key. This may sound like a dumb question but I'd rather not have my basses scuffed up with knobs falling off. Btw the blue aluminium knobe I bought for the fender are on tight and look great. I had to make a move because I bought the bass new and it was missing a knob.

Yeah..yeah

There is no standard size. Some are metric, some SAE, some bigger than others. Take the bass to a real hardware store or at least one of those "home improvement" stores that has people who actually know something about tools. You should be able to find the right ones pretty quickly. Or, just get a set each of metric and English allen keys (make sure you get the sets that have really small ones instead of big ones) and you'll be covered for lots of repairs.

+1 - get the sets that come attached to a keyring or are built like a penknife/leatherman. That way you won't lose them so easily - I speak from experience here!!.
