Allen screws or new bridge....

Sign in to disble this ad
so right now I'm looking to buy a new (somewhat overly used) five string bass. the electronics seem decent, the neck's alright, but one problem I have is the bridge. It appears that the allen screws for the most part are as low as they can go and probably warn down (since they're as tall as the seemingly collapsed bridge itself). so i'm thinking i might want to look for allen screws (maybe ones with a flathead screwdriver top so i don't need allen keys to adjust). any clue where i should be able to get them (ace hardware or something of the like)? or do you think i should just replace the bridge altogether?

Not sure what you mean about the bridge, but I have found similar screws for other parts at Home Depot. Can't hurt to look. Beats buying a bridge.

I got some Allen screws for my Strat from AllParts - didn't look for bass, but give them a try.

well, looking at the bridge of my pignose strat (lmao) and comparing to the fender and the squier i have, they're pretty similar....maybe i might want to see about going to some little music shop and getting a bridge....the only thing i have to worry about is it fitting in the body (doesn't seem to be that big of an issue) and price
