Allen Wrench sizes

I have a tech who's working on a bass of mine, newly acquired, that has an aftermarket bridge. He says he's having trouble finding the right size wrench. I have looked and looked (there is a thread in 'basses' http://www.talkbass.com/forum/showth...=1#post6404491
where i'm trying to find the type of bridge so I can get details...but that is a fruitless search as bass bridge makers do not seem to have anything useful on thier websites!

sorry for the double post the other thread is not helping.
He says he bought the smallest standard and smallest metric he could find and they are still too big...

Huh? I have a gazillion imperial and metric hex keys from the different sets I've purchased over the years...and I don't mean those piss-ant kits they sell on the bass / guitar specialty websites. Buy a decent set at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc. and you'll be good to go. FTR, I've never had to special-order a hex key from a manufacturer. I find that kind of ridiculous as the manufacturers are not custom ordering one-off hardware for their instruments; they pretty much use stock stuff with few exceptions.

I don't know...I was at work trying to deal w/this. didn't have all day to look into. checked HD's website and nothing saying .7mm popped up after a quick look. I Know mcmasters can get me a shipped in 1 day for $7 so I let it roll.
It's kind of strange, I guess, that the tech doesn't have the right hex but considering that no one even seems to know what bridge this is...
I'm hoping the guy will come through for me.........the genius tech I usually deal with can't get to me in time.

IF YOU ARE in Maryland/DC/VA and you need a tech go to philtone.com Phil Jacoby ROCKS plus he has a PLEK machine. Great guy as well, not to mention killer tele slayer.

that's the question this thread is based on! There's a pic earlier in the thread. G.Gould thinks it's a Gotoh 510. I say aftermarket because of the gap between the bridge and the body. check out the pic.

OOOPS ...forgot that I started a 2nd thread. Look at the link above for the pic.

It looks like a very old version of a Schaller. I have a 4-string that looks exactly like it, except that it only has 3 screws to the body instead of 4.

BadAss uses a funky size IIRC - something like a .062 or .067. Worth looking to see if that fits. (I'd check on mine, but my bass is in the shop right now.)

Thanks for the offer. I sent the guy a set of .7mm up to 1.5 or so...hopefully one will be correct.
I thought it was a Schaller as well. It's a piezo bridge.

Follow-up: one of my sets has 0.7, 0.9, and 1.3 mm keys. I don't see how the 0.7 mm can even be practical. Looks like it would snap in two with minimal torque. If somebody needs to borrow it, let me know and I'll mail it out.
