Allparts Jazz bass neck - Mighty Mite Precision Bass body

Sign in to disble this ad
I started my first project bass and recently purchased an Allparts jazz bass neck. I know exactly what type of finish I am looking for in my bass: plain old vintage white ! After reading a few threads I've noticed that some people have had to reshape the neck pocket on Mighty Mite bodies in order to fit an Allparts or Warmoth neck. Has anyone had any experience with this?

My second question would be....would anyone recommend these MM bodies since I am only looking for a plain swamp ash or alder body finished in vintage white (nothing special in my books). Or would it be worth dishing out the extra $150 to go with Warmoth or Allparts? I can't justify spending over $300 on a body that doesn't include any special finish or controle cavities.

Enlighten me....please!

the $300 warmoth body will include all routs, and if you pick one that is in the showcase, it will have a finish

You can get finished, routed Mighty Mite bodies.

I can't think of any reason to drop extra coin on Warmoth if you can get what you want for way less from Mighty Mite.

I've never had a bad experience with MM stuff. Just note that Fender pickguards don't always cover MM routs perfectly.

This is the only issue I have had with MM bodies. Fender nor Squier pick gaurds cover the entire routs on the MM P bass. I have never tried to mix necks and bodies though.

I built this bass here from a mighty mite neck and Mighty Mite body. Both are oil finished. Also the neck and body fit together nicely.

That's some fine looking grain there. Is it ash, I assume, and how much does she weigh?
