Alternative to strap locks + Vid......Might be usefull to you

I been using this method for 8 years but never been able to describe it to every one without sometimes causing a little confusion,... thought what better way to then make a video showing how...

I actually even found a thread on here whilst looking to see if i could put this in a already existing thread

poor man strap locks

but thought

A. I don't want to bump an old thread

and

B. Figured i think this might be pretty helpful to a few people who might not necessarily see it trawling through an old thread....

As said in the vid, Im not talking bad about strap locks, I just don't like the idea of the strap being able to come off at all, Were there's a will, there's a way so it will evidently happen!

Hope this may help a few fellow players

If you are going to that much trouble for a semi-permanent fix, it's a lot easier to just run the button screw out, slap a 6 cent washer under it and screw the button back over the strap.

But, whatever works, works. Your method is as good as any. I don't case my basses with the straps attached. It rubs the finish and condenses the form foam in the case. So, I prefer to use locks.

sorry, but i bet after all that i could still pull that strap right off the bass

we shouldn't be flaming this sort of thing, but a way better, faster and easier method is to pull on a rubber washer over the button, like from a bottle of grolsch beer or a pack of faucet washers from the hardware store.

That's cool - looks like a thicker rubber band might work well.

TFS!
