Alvarez aeb250na Bridge

Hi Guys,

I have an 90's Model Alvarez aeb250na 5string Korean bass. The bridge recently bent... In the middle of a gig, rendering the bass un-playable. Anyone else experience something like this with a similar bass?

I've been very happy with the feel of the bass and am considering some other tweaks while replacing the bridge. Always had slight fret buzz on the lower frets. So I'm wondering if the value is there to have a pro adjust the neck and frets, and replace the Alvarez P/J pickups with Barts or DiMarzios.

Bass isn't my primary instrument, so I'm a bit green when it comes to gear and gadgets and overall bass repair value. Does an overhaul sound like a good solution, or do you recommend looking at other options that bring better long term returns on my small investment? Thanks in advance.
