Amp buzzing

Sign in to disble this ad
Man, I bet everyone is getting tired of my "noob" questions but this one really is driving me crazy. I get a hardcore buzzing out of my bass out of all my amps when I plug in my Ibanez GSR100 and it stops when I touch something metallic, like the knobs, bridge, or input. Any ideas? The guy at my local music store said it might have something to do with the grounding in my house or something because it happens with my guitarist guitar sometimes when we practice as well.

Yah, that's a gounding issue. You could search the repair / setup forum for a whole bunch of threads on this issue. If you turn down the tone knob on your bass, it'll probably be less annoying.

Yeah it does, the more treble I throw in the more buzzy and hissy and it gets, any solutions, like a power conditioner or something (I have no idea what I'm babbling about...)?

Yah, a search would be a great idea There's been lots of good responses to this in other threads. I'm not trying to be a dick, but it's already been explained many times better than I could do. A power conditioner probably isn't going to help you.
