Question Annoying Buzz... Dead Spots

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello TalkBass, I got the strings on my bass moved closer to my Fret board, and it seemed awesome. For the first two or so weeks, playing became so much easier. However, presently I have this horrible sound on the first fret of my G string. It is unbearable, does anyone have an idea of how to fix this without having to go back to the Shop... Please let me know... Thanks.

Loosen the trussrod a little bit.

And, read the stickies about setups.

Most good techs guarantee their set-ups. If it was fine after the setup and then became a problem, it probably needs the truss rod tweaked a bit.

I think everyone should learn to do basic maintenance and setups on their own basses.
