annoying rattle playing e string

could it be the truss rod, doesnt seem to be frets or nut or pick up or bridge sounds like it comes from inside the neck?

Of course it could be the truss rod, but I had a bad buzz happen to me once, it was a bad E string. Have you replaced the strings recently?

Check and see if the truss rod nut is too loose. If it is, just tighten it enough to stop the rattling. The other possibility is that something is loose on one of your tuning machines. Inspect all of them for loose parts.

Barring any of these, check the nut or saddle for damage.

You've probably checked it, but it could also be the washer on the tuning peg. If you already checked, forget it.

It was a loose tuning machine on my Ibanez, so Id look there first hehe.

I fourth the tuning pegs. I used to have the exact same problem and it was quickly solved by tightening the tuning pegs.
