Another Bridge Thread from a bassist at wit's end

Sign in to disble this ad
So I've given up figuring out the Badass Bridge connundrum; I contacted the company, and they said Leo's dead, and it's up in the air what's happening with production right now.

A friend of mine suggested this bridge: http://store.guitarfetish.com/ovtopmobabrs.html

Basically I just want a high mass bridge with tracks for the saddles, to avoid sliding and rubbing together. This one seems to fit the bill...has anyone used it?

Thanks!

I would be hesitant to go with 'no-name' cast bridges if they don't disclose what material the bridge is made from (ie zinc and other tone sucking alloys). Brass and steel are widely regarded as the best materials for bridges. My recommendations: The ABM BB320 is a great bridge if you want mass as is the Schaller 3-D4. If you want a more traditional looking base plate with higher mass steel saddles check out the Schaller Bass 2000C 2334. I have one and although they're a pain to set up the first time, they sound great and are very solid.

And here's a place that usually has them in stock:

Hey thanks, but that one's definitely out...4 screw holes instead of 5

Although I also I found THIS bridge: http://basspartsresource.com/images/...B-0356-010.jpg

Which is high mass, is pretty popular, and seems to have saddle tracks, so I think I may have found my winner?
