Another string spacing question

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all, I'm a long time lurker and finally joined up and have a question regarding string spacing on a Fender licensed jazz neck with the nut installed. I am building a bass and I need to get a bridge and I want to use another Hipshot A style bridge. I measured from the center of the E string to the center of G string slots as instructed by Hipshot and I come up with 1.241" divided by 3 spaces gives me .41366. According to their site they tell you to measure this way. I then measured my '71 Fender P bass neck and come out with almost the exact same numbers. They offer string spacings of .750, .718, .669 and .656. What would you do here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The spacing they are talking about is at the bridge- not the nut. Measure at the bridge!

Oops, thank you. Yeah, it's going to be a .750 string spacing. Thanks for clearing that up.
