anyone have problems with Fender American Standard P-Bass staying in tune???

Good morning...

I spent about 3 hours last night with a new (2008) American Standard P Bass and found that the bass seemed to come out of tune quite a bit. I'm hoping this is just newer strings (and I think it is) but before I make the purchase I just want to see if anyone else is having problems with these tuning keys???

I purchased mine in May and have not had any issues with the tuning keys or staying in tune. Have changed out the strings once- no issues.
