Anyone know how to change a Just-A-Nut II on a Warwick Corvette?

Sign in to disble this ad
I just got around to replacing my JAN II to a JAN III on my Corvette. I took off the old nut, or it fell off due to the broken clips, but I really don't see how this new nut is going to stay on the bass. There's nothing to screw into on the bass, just a plastic piece that's part of the old nut. Has anyone changed these out, and if so, how did you go about doing it? What tools did you need? I have a set of Allen wrenches but that the only thing that I see that I would need. Sorry for the blond moment guys but I do need some advice.

I haven't got a Warwick currently, but from memory you just remove the old plastic base plate (glued on) and fit the new one in its place? A careful tap will dislodge it. I think most people use superglue as it is easy to remove, rather than a tougher epoxy type.

Yeah, I'm trying to "carefully" tap it but it's on there pretty good. Anyone know what the best method to tap these out would be?

Edit: Got it off. Just took a little more love taps than I thought but it popped right off. I'm using Elmers Super Glue to glue the new one on.

Got it on, along with a new set of Elrick strings. Very nice and easy to do, at least once you get that plastic piece out. I did have to raise it up a little since I had a little bit of fret buzz but it's cool now, and action is nice and low.

Warwick forum seems pretty cool. I really haven't had much of a chance to read much yet but everyone seems pretty cool. I saw some familiar names that I've seen on here. I'll have to get more acquainted with the forum.
