Ashtray placement - need some advice

I'm ready to mount a genuine Fender chrome ashtray-style bridge cover on my J-bass and wondered if anyone had a nice close-up pic of how far forward to mount this thing to get a "factory job" when I'm finished. Any comments would be greatly appreciated as well.
