B String muddy and clipping too much?
(this post might be in the wrong place, and if so, I apologize)
I have a TBC 5-string (single MM p/u, in case anyone's wondering) with a bit of a problem on the low B string. Even though it's from the exact same set of strings and set up the same as the others, it's noticeably VERY muddy, even with the treble all the way up. Even worse, whenever I play it with any force, it does this strange clipping/overdrive thing that just sounds terrible. Again, this is even when all of the other strings sound great. What could I be doing wrong? Could it be a pickup issue?
