Bad ass bass brigde question

Sign in to disble this ad
I recently installed the BAII on my MIM Fender Jazz and slotted the saddles just enough where the strings sat in place. Anyway, I had just one problem; to get the intonation correct, the saddles have to be pushed back much farther than I anticipated, so far that the screws are protruding from the bottom of the bridge. Is this a result of me not slotting the saddles correctly? I notice that when they are in the normal postion, the break on the string is pretty extreme but is relieved when I push the saddles back. The tone over all is very good but I just want the saddles in their normal postion...any suggestions would be greatly appreciated/ thanks.

Saddles

The notch should result in the string contacting the saddle at the very back edge before it slopes down, not the front edge.
That's what the guys at Elderly told me.

Also, the bridge is not the same as your old bridge and maybe the saddles have to be further back, though the screws should not be sticking out.
