Can you put a Bad Ass II bridge (5 hole set up) on a fender bass that has the 3 hole set up?

I believe you will find that after installing the middle screw, two of the other holes won't quite line up. So you would need to dowel those holes, and re-drill to match the Badass. IMO, not worth bothering with.
If you have a late-model 3 hole Fender, Hipshot make an A style bridge that lines right up without mods.

Or you could go for a Badass 3,which was made for Fenders with three holes.

and if you have a late model Fender, you will not find any improvements by going with a BadAss bridge imo

i have a BA-II on my 1983 Jazz Bass, it has 3 holes and the bridge lined up correctly.. i didn't drill out the other two holes, so it's on there with only the three stock screws..
