Is it bad for my neck?

Is it bad for my bass's neck NOT to be slightly curved? Everyone I ask says that it should be slightly concaved, but I can't get my action the way I want it when it's like that.

It's not bad if it's perfectly straight. It might increase fret buzz, but if it doesn't then you might as well have your neck as straight as possible.
