Badass Bridge 2 Question!

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought a Badass Bridge 2 for my Fender Jazz MIM bass. How hard is it to file down the saddel? Is it worth doing myself or get a pro to do it? If so, what type of files should I use?

my son put a BAII on his MIM Jazz last summer and it only cost $15 to get the saddles filed. didn't want to risk messing up and it was less expensive than the files.

Do you have any files? If so, just cut a small notch about 1/2 the diameter (or less) of the string. Some don't even bother to cut notches at all. Some will play with no notches for a while and let the string mark where to file. I've used round files sized to the string guage, cut small "V" cuts, and even cut very deep "V''s. Doesn't seem to make much differencce.
