badass bridge 5 on my new sadowsky ms5

Sign in to disble this ad
i heard a lot of good things about the badass bridge. so here i am, GASing for it. i have a 2 months old sadowsky ms5. and just for the record, it sounds awesome. now my questions are:

is it worth changing the original bridge to a badass v bridge?

will it sound better or it will ruin the tone of my bass?

my sadowsky have a high neck, does it mean the badass will be ok? cos i heard a lot of issues about saddle height.

what is the lowest saddle height i could get from badass?

i need suggestions right now and any thoughts about this will be much appreciated.

thanks

Don't change anything. Sadowsky basses are OK. Just spent all afternoon listening to one.

Dude, you pay big bucks for a Sadowsky so you won't need to change things like pickups or bridges!

Seriously, you could really hurt the resale on this bass if you change it. If you don't like it, sell it and get something you do like.

a Gotoh bridge, Rio Grande pickups, and a new acrylic black paint job would make your Metro the talk of the neighborhood!

or ... you could take the same money and spend it on lessons from a pro who will help you with your technique so you learn how to get the tone with your fingers. once you learn how to get the tone by playing correctly and then practice to the point where it becomes second nature to you you'll be able to make a Brice sound like a Fodera

all the best,

R

dude, i'm talking about the tone of my BASS, not my FINGER. i've been playing bass professionally for 18 years now, i definitely got THAT tone on my fingers. thanks for the advice anyway.

Personally, I don't think so. I really like Quick REeease bridges, especially on a gig. The BA-V is not a quick release bridge.

To subjective for anyone to really answer.

The base of the BA-V is pretty thick, you may need to shim the neck so you can have the action the way you like.

If you need to shim the neck, you'll have the same action as the Sad bridge.

I don't think it'll hurt resale. A lot of people LOVE BA bridges and A LOT of people have asked for BA's on Sadowsky basses.

Also, BA's used to be an option on Sad. basses until a few years ago.
