Lightbulb Badass bridge slotted or Hipshot . Spacement question!

Sign in to disble this ad
Sorry my english in advanced.

Dear friends. I have the Fender P CIJ and i need new bridge with spacement between 15 and/or 17mm. Well, the Hipshot have the .656 type A, but i don´t know if fit Fender holes. Here in my city ís hard to find bridges with spacement adjustment.
OTOH the Badass have the slotted model. My question is what the minimum spacement we can get with the Badass slotted bass bridge.
Some recommendations is highly appreciate.

Each saddle has 4 separate slots in a row so you can still retain some of the customization of the original model.

I'm pretty sure with a Fender of almost any sort you can find a bridge that will be able to fit, they are kind of an industry standard.

Audiophage, thank you.
Do you know how many milimmeters between strings we can get , using the more compacted strings arrange? In the slotted bridge i mean.
Thank you again my friend.

These are the only dimensions I have right now:

Notice that the lower 2 strings have 4 slots, the upper 2 have 5 slots. However, I believe the total spacing across those slots is the same.

Wow Slyjoe, thanks so much for big Badass pic, now i see, yes, very cool system to make personal adjustments, and looks cool as Hipshot bridge too. That 4 rows will be very usefull to make my own adjustments for my playing style.

Thanks for answer my question . :-)

You are welcome. One other thing you may want to know - when adding Baddass bridges, to get action low I have had to shim the neck so the bridge saddle doesn't bottom out. The Badass bridge has a thicker plate than the stock Fender bridge, so it raises the strings higher.

Actually, I"ve used both. I am leaning toward using the Gotoh more and more. It doesn't have the string width spacing choices, but is a nice high mass bridge that is a LOT cheaper than the Badass, and the bottom plate doesn't seem as thick. It is set up for a Fender, so I haven't run into too many troubles trying to align the strings with the pickups.
