BadAss II bridges on Ebay

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been watching with interest the rising prices or BadAss II bridges on Ebay. Having owned several over the years I find the recent excitment interesting. The going price seems to be close to $200 for the latest, with the multple string channels. I recently bought two Squier basses for less than $150 each and they both had the factory BAII's. I guess I had better sell the bridges seperatly.

I thought they went for 85 bucks? But last time I checked was before they started channeling them.

I recently sold a MIM Fender Jazz with a BA II bridge on it. If I would have been paying attention I should have pulled the bridge and sold it separately! I would have gotten almost double for the two separated as opposed to selling it as one unit!

The only one's I've seen go for $200 are the slotted ones that come with the highway one basses. The other older ones go for $90

There had been some talk about difficulty in buying them thru the normal suppliers and it was thought that Fender was using most of their production. I think there are two models. The older had a single string channel (from the mfg, not cut) and the latest with the 3 channels.

Whatever the marketplace does, I have my limit.

Much as I love the BA line of bridges, I'll start looking for something else before I pay $200 for a bridge.

I.m really considering pulling the one on my Ash Jazz and putting on a Gotoh type bridge on it. I can buy a generic Gotoh for 20 bucks and sell my un slotted BA II for 80...noice!

Why would you even pay that amount? Just buy from a retailer

Still, that doesnt warrant a $200 price. There are other bridges that are much better.

If you go to eBay and search on "Badass Bridge" in musical instruments, and check on completed auctions, there are a few that "reliablefender" sold at very high prices, ($207 and $167) with 15 and 6 bidders each. ..

Those were takeoffs from 2009 Fenders...

It sort of makes sense if normal retail channels (like Allparts) are out of stock.......

What's the real problem, then?

The real question is why is supply pinched the way it is? There is something more to the story.
