Badass II horrid noise

Sign in to disble this ad
I just put a BAII on my MIM Fender Jazz and it sounds great through the amp with no pedal. When I play it through my Danelectro FAB OD pedal theres a horrid noise like a cracling rigid noise that pops in and out and im wondering what the problem is. My bet is a grounding issue but im wondering how i fix it. Responses appreciated

There's a grounding wire in most basses that is touching the bridge. Unscrew your bridge (with the strings slack, of course) and double check that the wire is still underneath. If not, it could've been pulled through into the cavity of the bass.

Are you sure that there is not an issue with:
1) the Pedal
2) one of the cables?

Hmmm... after rereading the original post, I don't think it's a bridge grounding issue. I retract my previous statement. There's something funky with your pedal, or your cables, or even the outlet (if an adaptor is being used) that the pedal is plugged into.

You're positive there's no noise (hum) w/out the pedal that stops when you put your hands on the strings?
