Badass II Modification

I was killing time the other day at the local music store, looking for replacement bridges for my Fender JB 24-fretter. Anyway, I was observing a BAII replacement bridge and noticed that the holes on the back of the bridge on which you run the strings through are on the same vertical planes as the canals on which the saddles slide on. This made me thinking: Is it worthwhile modifying the BAII into a through-the-body bridge by drilling string mounting holes in the groves close to the rear of the bridge? Of course, this assumes that the existing holes on my Jazz body would also line-up with the BAII groves.

For years I've tried to hear it. The only difference I can find is that it takes a little bit more time to run the strings through the body.
